How original, huh. Betcha the residents here never heard that one before. Anyway, we got our first taste of Spain's train system as we enjoyed a very smooth, very quiet 30 minute ride to Toledo, about 44 miles south of Madrid.
This is a swell-looking city. Hasn't changed much over the centuries and apparently residents like it that way: if you buy an apartment here, you must keep the style. Changes are closely regulated. And in this Spanish city, where time has stood still we encountered ..... a waiter from Clifton, New Jersey! Moved here about 2 years ago because his wife is from Spain. So we all talked Diamondbacks baseball while Gene & I enjoyed another good meal.
But I'm beat and we're up early tomorrow for the next leg of our journey: Barcelona! Oh lordy, I hope Gene's oversized suitcase makes it on the train.
